yesterday, i was reminded of a great story in the midst of the making of a great story.

2 years ago...Intersection of rt. One and 610..

it was a thursday night, i was on my way to the Pillar biblestudy. as i was coming over the hill and passing through the light at Mcdonalds, life was still normal. i was jaming to my music and just enjoying the drive to Dumfries...

Then the guy infront of me decided that he would stop at a GREEN light!!! i did not notice in time to come to a complete stop and ended up shooting him into the intersection. we pulled off on the side of the road infront of the Aquia church that is right there. and began the, "oh my goodness, are you ok sir, are you ok mam, is there any marks on your car, blah blah blah..."

then enters Bobby O. he pulled off the road behind me. He was on his way to meet up with Pastor Nate and saw the whole thing happen and pulled off to see if everything was good, it was and he then departed. long story short, neither of our cars (the guy i hit and mine) were harmed, neither of us were injured so we departed on our way.

That story popped in my head yesterday as Bobby O and i ventured north to pick up my car...

Monday began with some chill time at the house, laundry and packing. Then Clint called, i now had a mission to accomplish now. My day would have meaning!!
I had to go pick up my car from fairfax and take it to an auto shop (that is not anywhere near the firehouse...) off of route one. and Bobby O. came with me so that he could drive my van back. and also help me not get lost, thanks Bobby! Fairfax is a confusing place.
well all was going well, we had the car, and we had stopped for a quick lunch (ran into some awesome ppl! Cliftons and Wires!!!) and were on our way down route one to find the auto shop. i was now in lead, but as i found the firehouse, i did NOT find the auto shop, so i had to turn around a bunch. FINALLY, i was like, Jeff left some papers in the glove box from the auto shop, wonder if there is a number. well found the number and called and determined that i was closeish but going in the wrong direction so while on the phone with the guy who was giving me directions i pulled into a lil abandoned area to turn around.
There was a puddle of mudd, the explorer made it through quite well, as if it were nothing...the van...not so much. Poor Bobby O. as soon as the van tried to go through it it just sunk in the front in the mudd. it was stuck. Meanwhile i had no idea and was about to turn onto route one, then i looked in the rear view mirror and kinda abruptly hung up the phone (sorry bout that onestop auto shop guy...my b)
and so i put the car in park and ran over to the van. when Bobby tried to back out or go forward it did nothing but spin the tires. so he got out and we examined the problem. i dont knwo what got in me or what made me think i could do it but i was like "Bobby, it doesnt look that bad, lets try putting it in Neutral and I will push it out!" yeah right! haha bobby was like, that is not going to work, but i insisted and we tried and duh...didnt move at all...
so Bobby gets out and is like, we just need someone with a truck to pull us out. so as we were trying to think who we could call, (in my head im like, my dad is going to shoot me, but this is so ironic and hilarious and the tire spinning in the mudd looks really cool...hope the engine isnt flooded...) so im looking through my phone for someone i can think of that might have a truck. as that was happening, a moving truck and a mini van pulled in to help us. the mini van realized that the truck had pulled in too and left. the guys in the truck got out and began without hesitation to help us. they too tried to push it out...it didnt work too well for them either...
so then they started scheming how they were going to use some rope and attach it to their lift and to the van and pull us out. and the just went right to work and in no time at all they got us out. it was spectacular! so relieving... so amazing to think that not even a minute after thinking we need a truck, a truck just shows up to help. thank you very much random strangers that helped us!
so we were then off to find the autoshop, i called them again and got directions and headed down the road. let me just tell you if you have passed quantico going north and you are searching for One Stop Auto, you have gone WAY TOO FAR!! and if you have passed the 7eleven on rt. one going north and looking for one stop auto, you have gone to far. its like a little ways from there.

but it was an awesome day, morning really.
now im off to continue packing. and yeah...
fun times!
