THE UPDATE
We got the latest news on our fundraising today.
We arent there yet but the funds left to raise for each of us is: Michele= $50; Becky= $1400
I would be lying if i said i wasnt scared, or at least i was when i first heard that figure of $1400, but we have a month, and alot can happen in that amout of time, and I know the Lord will provide! I mean, look how much he has provided already for us, Michele=$2,700; Becky=$1,045!

T-shirts: they will be sold for $15 and will be available on Sunday March 9th.
Open House:
When: March 15th @ Becky's house, 22th, and 29th(the 22nd & 29th will depend on how the first one goes).

Info on it: My wonderful and creative mother, Mary Castle, will have her crafts there to sell and, the profit from them will go to the summer. She has beautiful jewelry, warm scarfs, blankets, pot holders and many other items. We will also be selling baked goods.
Please keep us and the summer in your prayers! And PLEASE buy a T-shirt, ill post a pic of the design, it was designed by Kristen Marks and is AMAZING!!!!

ok so this is the first of what will be 2
michele and i are suposed to find out which staff we are on tonight.
we will also get a complete update on where we are with the funds, we got a preview of whats up this morning which is pretty awesome but we are still waiting before we post more, but check tomorrow or later tonight for an update on everything!

This was DEFINITELY blog worthy!!!!!!
Ok so this is the story of Sunday February 24th of the year 2008.
3:30 Keilan, Phillip, Zach, Michele, Kristen, and me leave the church to go down to Aletheia (church in richmond va, on the VCU campus)
Zach was driving Phillip's car with Keilan in it (Car 1); Phillip was driving the girls in Keilan's car(Car 2). Car 2 has to take a slight detour and drop of Brittany at home, when we get on interstate (at about 3:50) all is well.
( i was gonna timeline it for you but thats boring, ill just tell you)
ok so then we get a phone call from Keilan and he is telling us that Phillips engine has blown up(ie, it is smokin black and sounding not so good) so they are pulled over at the side of the road about 10 miles past the fredericksburg exit. to be exact they are at the 121 mile marker on 95. at first before we got there we were thinking that keilan was just jokin cause 1. he was rather calm on the phone, 2. i know zach and he jokes alot well they were not joking. we passed them and tried to slow down and we pulled over but ended up haveing to back up a little. ne who phillip gets out to see if its fix able so we can move on. it isnt, so keilan and Zach get in Car 2 (ie, keilans car) and we proceed to aletheia and phillip gets his car towed. (stay tuned for the rest of that part)
ok so then we are driving and we are about to get off the exit to go to aletheia and keilan notices this lady is guesturing to him and makin wierd faces and im in the front and we are tryin to figure out what she could be pointing at him for, and no sooner had the words "maybe we have a flat"(i was totally just thinkin, what are the odds!?!?!) so no sooner had the words left my mouth did he realize that we indeed had a flat....
ok so we get off the ramp, now the whole car realizes whats up, so its on my side, we are at a stop light, im asked to look out the car door and acess the damage, and as im still out the door half way i feel the car move and then i see keilans brand new ibook Mac computer fall off my lap and onto the ground as i am still out the door and i try to grab it but dont get ahold of it as i am trying to keep my balance and im like yellin "keilan STOP, keilan, the MAC keilan your MAC has fallen out of the car...KEILAN STOP" and so he stops and is like what, and i jump out the car and get the mac, but it was too late, the car had gone over it. and i then let him know that there was no way that he would make it to aletheia on the tire, so we pull over in an empty parking lot and the story doesnt end there. we all get out and well, keilan had lent his jack to a friend and hadnt gotten it back from him yet and so we couldnt raise the car and we couldnt get the spare from underneath the car cause there is the key to that is with the jack that we didnt have..
so he calls the aletheia ppl and Jordan (an aletheia friend) comes and he has a jack but its for a car that is smaller then keilans blazer tazer so it doesnt work so well but he does have something to get the spare from under the car so we get the spare out and we lift car with the jack as much as we could and we got the old tire off......
WELL the spare is flat. so jordan doesnt have room in his car to take us all to aletheia so Josh, (another friend/the preacher person of aletheia) shows up to get us and to help out. so we all pile in the cars with the spare in jordans car, then jordan and keilan have to stay at the church for the band practice, so us girls stay at the church and zack and josh (as far as i know) they go get the tire filled and go back to the car....
while michele kristen and i are at the church telling our story a bunch of times and talkin with ppl and keilan is at band practice, this next part is what was goin on....
ok so the spare, it was just as bad as the tire that had flattened on us, and when we had left phillip on 95 he had called for a tow truck and then called his mom (who was in a meeting at the church and probably freaked everyone out when she proptly told them phillips car had blown up and she had to leave) so his mom came and got him and they followed the tow truck guy to where they had to go and then they decided to just head to aletheia.
so again, the flat and spare are no good. while they had been workin on it phillip and ms cynthia see them when they get off the exit, and some how they get keilans car over to this other random spot. so they get to church just as the worship is ending and the service is about to start.
meanwhile i had been kinda freakin out because i didnt know where zach was, i didnt know that phillip and ms cynthia had come and had him, and i couldnt focus in worship till i just called phillip, thinkin he was back in stafford, and i really didnt know how in the hey i was gonna get ahold of zach...oh and phillips engine was cracked, and not drivable anymore...
so after service it was decided that the girls and zach would ride back home with ms cynthia and phillip and keilan would spend the night in richmond and get keilans car and computer details worked out the next morning and buy phillip a new car while they were out...
yeah, that was our day!!!!!! it was crazy...
did i mention that the bulk of that happened with in an hour... if you read that whole thing then bless your heart. your awesome!
just goes to show that satan just did not want something to happen tonight that God had planned! but he is nothing compared to God and God will crush him like a bug!

Snow Day? Where's the Snow?
so, today, Friday, February 22, 2008, Stafford County closed school, they are so silly.
theres no snow, it really doesnt look like there is ice, i think they closed school today just to take pity on the students since nature has not given them much of a wintery wonderland this year. have a day off is nice, it would have been even nicer if i hadnt gotten up and ready for work only to have my dad, who is a driver for the county and is usually out of the house by 6:30, walk by me and say, "by the way,did you know that school is cancelled?" nope i had no idea dad, and so now at about noon, im typing this and having a marathon of Indiana Jones with my brother, Congrats Zach, after 21 years of bein my brother, you finally got me to watch the movies i have avoided all my life.
well, i guess i should actually watch them now so adios!

Pelt Game night!!!!
It was the BOMB!! Thank you Jason & Tracee for hosting it! For those who came, you know what im talkin bout! ill explain a smidge for the rest of you,
our sunday school had a game night at the Pelt's house this past saturday night! it started around 6 or 6:30pm, lasted till 12:30am.
You may be asking what games we would play for that long...well wonder no more, i shall tell you!

- Guess who, Jengo, and Connect Four (old school games rock!!)
- Bunko(took over most the night)
- Take Six(this was the second wind game that kept us there past midnight)
- Apples to Apples(the quickest game of AtA that i have ever played)
- and another game that i still cant get the name right on..
sadly though, we did not play my favorite, Loot...that just means another game night should and shall occur in the future!

OH SNAP!!!!!!
OH SNAP!!!!! thats all the words i could really conjure up after hearing some surprising and delightful news!
The delightful news is that; so far there is $1,015 in my account at Global, and $1,625 for michele in her her account for Global!!!!
this VERY VERY awesome, we now have around 45 or so days to raise the remaining funds!
God never ceases to amaze me! I must say that this was a HUGE surprise for me, because, well, i thought i had at most $500 in my account.
i was jumping up and down and goin nuts and then i called michele to tell her and i couldnt even get any words out except that we are half way there! and im so excited!
i have had a song in my head the past couple days, and a smile on my face when ever i sing it and it is this,
GOD IS GOOD!
ALL THE TIME!
HE PUT THIS SONG OF PRAISE IN THIS HEART OF MINE!
GOD IS GOOD!

AND IN THE DARKNESS OF NIGHT

Oh Gee!
have you ever gone through your day and just had six billion things running through your mind that you need to get done. well, thats been goin on a bit lately, and then i run a list in my mind, (and later on paper) of how to acomplish those tasks, but the feeling of accomplishing those things on the list, well its just a gratifying thing. its amazing what a little bit of down time can do to help accomplish your tasks.
man if only i had figured this out when i was in highschool...maybe i would have averted those horible evil eyes of my teachers...
who knows...
point of the story is that lists are good, they keep me sane.
ok nuf about that. tonight i went to church at Aletheia @ VCU in our fine capital of Richmond Va. twas POINT BLANK amazing! twas my second time going and both times now ive walked away having been really challenged by the message.

Hello!!!! this being my first post i have no idea what to write!
if annie knew i have a blog, scratch that, when she finds out i have a blog shes gonna laugh...oh well....it seems like fun!
Well i guess my main reason for now having this is to give updates on how preparation for the summer are going...but more than likely it will be for other uses too....i tend to bunny trail alot with anything i do.
im excited about this summer.
im interning again this year with Global Youth Ministry. this year a good friend and i are raising our funds together. together we are about $4,000 shy of our goal, which is needed to be collected by APRIL 1st. which is like right around the corner.
we have some ideas floating of how to raise this money. we have got a design for a T-Shirt that we will be trying to get made soon, so if you want a t-shirt let me know. its a pretty amazing design, created from the brain of my genius friend Kristen! Woot Woot to you Kristen if you're reading this.
we will be putting together an open house as well for to sell some items, raise some mulla and have fun and fellowship with people so be on the lookout for that date.
I want to say thank you to all my friends and family that supported me last year, and those that support me this year with this internship/mission trip! your all amazing and ill never be able to thank you sufficiently! God did alot last summer and i just know that He has even bigger plans for this summer!
K enough of the long writingness for now, i have church in the am, gotta be able to wake up and be aware of my surroundings....
